New Details Allege What Preceded Tiger Woods' One-Person Car Accident
Tina Brown's The Daily Beast is alleging new details on what might have happened on the Thanksgiving night that Tiger Woods crashed his SUV into a fire hydrant.
According to "two inside sources," Tiger's wife had spoken with Rachel Uchitel, the woman the National Enquirer alleged was having an affair with Tiger, just before the story broke. Tiger had urged Rachel to convince his wife, Elin, that the story was false and that he and Rachel were merely friends.
Elin, obviously not convinced, impersonated Tiger in a text conversation with Rachel and then followed up with a phone call to Uchitel. Having confirmed her suspicions, she flew into a rage. During this covert operation Tiger was asleep, having taken an Ambien (a sleep aid and a drug he alleged used as sex tool - don't ask!) and was awakened by an angry Elin. At some point, while being berated by Elin, Tiger is said to have texted Rachel, telling her his wife was onto the affair and the word divorce came up. Not surprisingly, Elin discovered this text and all hell broke loose.
It is at this point that Tiger fled the house with Elin, golf club in hand, in close pursuit. These events are what led to Woods crashing his car — and might possibly explain that golf club through the window. Elin does NOT play.
While this gives some additional insight into what might have caused Tiger's accident and preceded that fateful crash, most of this information was assumed a while ago. Without knowing the source providing these details it's all still speculation, though likely close to the truth.
However, I'd say this virtual re-enactment is pretty accurate — and hilarious.
