Shia Labeouf Opens Up About That Infamous Car Accident

Actor Shia LaBeouf is finally discussing his infamous car accident from the summer of 2008, when he was arrested for DUI after flipping his SUV. The 23-year old Transformer star was interviewed by GQ while promoting his new film, Wall Street: Money Never Sleeps, and he shared some of the missing details of his crash.
"I'm so angry. Because this accident was not caused by me. I got hit. I had a green. This f*cker ran a red light. And he flipped my truck, and he shoveled it on my hand. And my fingers are in the street… they're off, they're under the truck door, man. This is fake, dude," he says, lifting his newly reconstructed hand. "This is hip bone and the skin that was left over…"
It was big news at the time of the accident. Shia was in the middle of filming for the Transformers 2: Revenge of the Fallen (or as I like to call it, 2 1/2 hours I can't get back) and his accident interrupted the filming and because of the seriousness of the injury, it had to be written into the script. Now we know why — dude cut off fingers.
The accident was pretty severe, with Shia and his passenger, Transformer co-star Isabel Lucas, both suffering injuries. Luckily for Shia, two days after the accident LA police determined the other driver was at fault for running a red light and then plowing into LaBeouf's SUV. Had Shia been at fault, I am fairly certain the media and general perception toward him would have shifted negatively.
Speaking of negative, check out the trailer for the sequel to Wall Street - it looks super sucktastic.
