It’s been nearly two years since the death of pop icon, Michael Jackson, and even in death he is still treated as a cash horse for many, many, many people.

Michael Jackson changed the face of music forever with each and every single song on his second solo album, Thriller. He put music videos and MTV on the map with some great makeup effects, some badass dancing zombies, and a song that everyone played at parties even when it wasn’t Halloween. He truly was the King of Pop.

Unfortunately, this eludes into yet again, how much money he will make even in death. The Thriller jacket is being auctioned off at Julien’s Auctions with a starting bid of $100,000. It is expected that the jacket will sell upwards of $400,000.

There is one thing that not many seem to care about. Where is the money going? This time, it is going to the things and people that MJ held most dear.

MJ had a great many loves in his life, he loved with a passion children, his in particular, his family, his fans, and his animals that graced the Neverland Ranch. As famous and as loved as he was, he led a very lonely life. The animals that lived at the ranch were his companionship much of the time prior to becoming a parent.

Darren Julien, Founder, President and CEO of Julien’s Auctions was reached briefly for a comment on the upcoming Music Icons Exhibition. “This is very exciting.” Julien spoke enthusiastically.

“Consigners are family, the friends (Dennis Tompkins and Michael Bush) that he gave the jacket to and the primary consigner is going to be Tippi Hedren’s Shambala Wildlife Preserve,” He said, “Two of Michael’s animals from Neverland are there.”

Like MJ, Tippi Hedren is an avid animal lover and in her own right, a classic film legend. Tippi is best known for her role in the Alfred Hitchcock classic “The Birds.”
