Your Smartphone Is Your Ticket To Ride
Paper tickets are a thing of the past. Smart Destinations, recently launched their Go Select Pass, allowing entertainment seekers in several cities to attend attractions, theme parks, concerts, whatever--getting in the door with just their smartphones.
InPark Magazine, keeping tabs on theme parks, waterparks, museums, full domes and other attractions, says the Go Select Pass debuted in 4 US cities, but the Smart Destinations site claims 13.
Hey, give it a few months and the name will probably change to something like the "Go Anywhere Do Anything" Pass.
Once there was a time when credit cards were the paragon of convenience. The multi-versatile smartphone is not only making tree huggers happy but also eliminating all that plastic bulging in wallets and buried at the bottom of purses.
The smartphone digi-ticket is jam-packed full of discounts too! The more concerts, museums, ship cruises, tours and themeparks attended, well, the discounts start to add up.
While the FCC continues to work on the electromagnetic interference as the cause of banned cellphones on planes, Smart Destination's Go Select Pass will undoubtedly replace credit card discounts on accumulated air miles.
Sure wish we could get land miles.
And when you go to cash in your points for a ticket to the Bahamas, just show them your iPhone or Android (as they look at you with a discerning eye telling you to turn the thing off before boarding).

Scanners at the various attractions are used to get you in the door or through the turnstile. Frankly, I find it tedious to have to take my phone out of my pocket. I'd much prefer if I could just "look" at the scanner and in I go. You know, like Tom Cruise did in Minority Report.Continued on the next page
