Lindsay in Cannes, France

Yesterday we wrote about Lindsay Lohan starring in an upcoming biopic on Linda Lovelace, tentatively titled Inferno.  Lindsay is in Cannes to promote her project, but back home Lindsay is facing bigger issues.

Lindsay was arrested for a DUI back in 2007, in truth, she had two back to back DUI's and a misdemeanor cocaine charge, but who's keeping track.  With these two strikes against her she was placed on three years probation and ordered to attend substance abuse classes, which she failed to do and had her probation extended for an additional year.  Because of these repeated violations, Lindsay has a hearing Thursday to determine what her punishment will be, which could include jail time.

Despite a last minute, last ditch effort to catch up on her missed classes, she is still violation and is now apparently stuck in Cannes and can't get a flight due to the Icelandic volcanic ash grounding flights across Europe. Her court appearance on Thursday is mandatory and it's unlikely the judge will be kind to Lindsay considering the number of chances she's been given.

Unless Lindsay can find a way to make it back to LA, it looks likely she will have to serve jail time.  However, even that doesn't really mean much in LA, where the jails are over-crowded and non-violent offenders are typically released early to make space for those hard-core criminals.  Ahh, to be famous and irresponsible.
