Madonna's Daughter Lourdes Has a Blog

The Material girl hasn't always succeeded in love or acting, but that hasn't stopped her from being one of the most successful female artists in history.
One of the things I like most about Madonna, besides her innate ability to keep reinventing herself, is how grounded her 13-year old daughter Lourdes seems. It can't be easy having Madonna as your mother, not only is she a workaholic, but she's also a pretty uptight Type A person. There have been signs over the last 13 years that show how controlling she is over her children's lives.
Rumors of her parental control from not allowing them to watch TV, eat any kind of food that's not organic or macrobiotic, to keeping them sheltered from the world, have cropped up enough for there to be some truth to it. Bless her for caring so much. As we've seen with some famous people, they either aren't there for their kids at all, or are so permissive it leads to major problems with substance abuse or promiscuity.
I am fairly confident Lourdes will never become a Lindsay Lohan — and that's AWESOME. But, it's also nice to see Madonna loosen up a bit and let her oldest have a outlet of expression, even if it's mostly a "fashion blog."
Appropriately titled, Material Girl Collection, it features Lourdes talking about her fashion obsessions (all things 80's - how awesome is that) and the Material Girl fashion line. However, there are brief snippets of her life as a 13-year old girl, whose mother just happens to be one of the most famous women in the world. Here's a brief sample from Lourdes' first real blog entry:
Helluuur thurrrr, I’m Lola and this is my first blog entry so it’s kind of like ummmm….Scatological humor? I already like it! I imagine we'll be hearing more from Lourdes over the years, like mother, like daughter.I’m just going to use this blog entry to tell y’all a little bit about myself. I’m 13 and I’ll be 14 in October, so I can’t wait for that because I am FINALLY allowed to dye my hair… THANK YOU MOTHER!! My favvvv color is black (just because it goes with everything) and my least favorite color is brown (because it resembles the color of something QUITE gross).
