Mariah Yeater, Justin Bieber: She Still Wants DNA Test and More
According to reports, the Justin Bieber saga is not close to being over. Mariah Yeater's new attorney Jeffrey Leving reportedly told TMZ that Ms. Yeater dismissed the paternity lawsuit in order to engage the Bieber defense team in a private settlement.
Justin Bieber was accused of fathering Ms. Yeater's baby during a backstage rendezvous at a concert. Ms. Yeater is 20 years old, jobless and virtually broke. The baby is now 4 months old. Mr. Leving claims to be arranging the terms of a DNA test with the legal team for Justin Bieber.
Howard Weitzman, Bieber's lawyer, is standing firm that no settlement is forthcoming, insisting, “There have been no settlement discussions and there never will be.” The music star has repeatedly vowed that he's not the father and that his legal team plans to sue Ms. Yeater over the allegations.
Mr. Leving, for his part, responds that the threat of legal action is a ruse to intimidate, “a 20 year-old-woman with no money and no job.”
While Ms .Yeater may lose a hefty child support payment if Justin Bieber is not the biological father, Justin Bieber stands to lose everything if he is the father. For if Ms. Yeater's allegations are true, nearly the all of his fans will likely abandon him and his music. Many people dislike gold-diggers much in this world, but what they really hate in this world are liars and dead-beat dads.
