RIP: Alec BaldwinThe recent victim of a celebrity committing the socially-heretical act of Twittercide is Alec Baldwin. He has effectively died on the social network Twitter.

After being ejected from an American Airlines plane for supposedly refusing to stop playing Words With Friends on his iPad on Tuesday. Later, the “30 Rock” actor tweeted about it and now Alec Baldwin's Twitter account has ceased to exist.

Shortly after the incident, Alec Baldwin tweeted for his 600,000 followers on Twitter to stop following him, urging “let's crash this account.” Apparently, it seems to have worked as @AlecBaldwin no longer exists.

Alec Baldwin is latest in a series of celebrities to commit Twittercide. Twittercide is defined by the Urban Dictionary as deleting or wiping everything on your Twitter page, effectively committing social networking suicide on Twitter.

One of his last tweets was a comment about the flight with American Airlines: “Last flight w American. Where retired Catholic school gym teachers from the 1950's find jobs as flight attendants.”

Other notable celebrities to recently commit Twittercide are Miley Cyrus, Chris Brown, Jesse James, and Lily Allen. Each of these celebrities were resurrected from the Twitter's graveyard. Let's hope that the always even-tempered and soft-spoken Alec Baldwin comes back to Twitter.
