Stars of Twilight and American Idol to say “I Do!”
A long time ago couples dated for more than a few months before they became engaged. Then there were the traditional showers and parties to celebrate the pending marriage. In a "musical chairs moment" Twilight star Nikki Reed is now engaged to American Idol participant Paul McDonald.
McDonald and Reed have not made any mention when the wedding date is but I am positive that they'll wed after McDonald completes his Nikki Reed EP he is now working on. He is presently composing songs in her honor to be released probably just before the next installment of Twilight comes out in November. McDonald, the Rod Stewart sound alike that came in 8th this season on American Idol is obviously in love.
When Reed was questioned about how serious she was about her engagement after dating barely two months she immediately said,
"He's the one!" "He's the one!"
Her answer sounded more like the chorus from Grease that John Travolta and Olivia Newton John sang than a clear thinking woman.
But who am I to question this engagement as I dated my first husband for five years and the marriage lasted barely a year. I am just concerned that 6 months after the marriage the tabloids are not going to be reporting headlines of "He's the one!" but more like “It’s Over!”
Reed still visits her former fiancé Paris Latis every time he comes to Los Angeles which is concerning. She was also engaged to him after a short courtship and Reed suffered a mental breakdown last year as she tried to get over him.
But then again who are we to judge? Something that does not sit well with you and I might be for the best for someone else. Maybe we should believe that they are in love because what spells out love more than announcing your engagement at the MTV Movie Awards?
