Woody Allen on Roman Polanski: From One Creep To Another

Two famous directors, both artistically respected, even iconic, sadly find themselves shadowing each other down the same dubious paths. So it's perhaps fitting that Woody Allen, who famously married his 22-year old adopted step-daughter Soon-Yi at the age of 56, would find a soft spot for Roman Polanski.
Polanski is currently embroiled in an international legal battle over a rape charge against him dating back to 1978. Polanski pleaded guilty to drugging and raping a 13-year old girl at this home in California.
Polanski fled the U.S. to avoid prison after a complicated and some-what dubious agreement with the judge presiding over the case. Polanski had been living in France since fleeing the U.S., and had escaped justice for over 30 years until his arrest in Switzerland in September of '09. Polanski is now awaiting extradition.
Allen on Polanski:
‘Enough is enough. It happened many years ago. He has suffered. He’s an artist, he’s a nice person. He did something wrong and he paid for it.
Allen's comment comes on the heels of new sexual allegations against Polanski, 76, accusing him of attacking another underage girl who was auditioning for a role in one of his films.
