Brave: Film of Pride and Reconciliation
The 2012 animation and adventure comedy, Brave, by DISNEY•PIXAR, is a film with twists and turns that even parents can enjoy with their children. The themes of pride and reconciliation are evident for those who want more than bows, bears and wonderful Disney Digital 3D animation.
The film is set in the Highlands of Scotland, a land of epic battles and mysterious legends. The young princess, Merida, is the daughter of King Fergus and Queen Elinor. She is disobedient to her parents wishes in following the kingdom's traditions of marriage. Her pride leads her down a road of destruction, as she seeks her own destiny.
The wisp-lined trail, on which her pride leads, takes Merida to an evil witch's house and involves unholy spells and the destruction of her family. Her disobedience of the trail her mother placed her on in life causes numerous problems for Merida.
The red-haired princess eventually overcomes the challenges in her new life and manages to reconcile the mother-daughter relationship that is the foundation of a blessed family.
With a rating of PG, parents can use this movie to guide their children to the truth in life - the consequences of not listening to one's parents.
The film, Brave, opens in select theaters on Friday, June 22, 2012.
