It’s a Clown Beat-Down on DVD: Klown Kamp Massacre (2010) - Page 2
Fast forward to the present, and some clown is reopening Klown Kamp, much to Edwin’s displeasure. He’ll show them clowns!
It’s Troma time so viewers must expect rivers of blood and gobs of goo (formerly people) but Klown Kamp Massacre was never intended to scare (I hope; if it was…FAIL). It is one corny joke after another, punctuated with the annihilation of clowns. There are running gags, sight gags, a lame love story, and a super-gratuitous party scene so that the slasher-film-required bouncing boobs could be…well…bounced. Klown Kamp Massacre also pokes fun at reality shows, Camp Crystal Lake, boot camp drill sergeants, television, advertising, and other slasher flicks.
Viewers who are looking for a meaningful (what does that mean?) film experience or a technically sublime movie are cautioned to look elsewhere. Those who enjoy semi-talented semi-amateurs having fun acting stupid will find Klown Kamp Massacre satisfying. It is far from classic, but it is certainly “cult.” (And much to this viewer’s delight, Lloyd Kaufman appears as Vic Vickers.)
