The Amazing Spiderman gets "Amazing" Response From India, Collects $6.27 Million in 3-days Opening!

Mumbai; July 04,2012:
The 2012 American superhero film directed by Marc Webb has received a tremendous response from India. The film broke and created various records in the nation. Amazing Spider-man collected 34 Crores ($6.27 Million) in the 3-day opening weekend breaking the previous record set by James Cameroon's 'Avatar' which collected 16 crores ($2.95 Millions).
Amazing Spider-man also set up a new record of opening in 1,236 screen across India beating Avatar's record of 760 screens. In India the film was available for viewers in 4 languages (English,Hindi,Tamil,Telugu) and in 2D,3D and IMAX 3D formats.
In India the film was distributed by Sony Pictures India. Film was released on 29th June in India ahead of United States where the film was released on 3rd of July.
The film also casts Indian actor Irrfan Khan who plays the role of Dr.Rajit Ratha. Director Marc Web who was impressed with Irfan's performance said that he himself is a fan of Irrfan after watching him perform in the films , The Namesake and The Warrior. There are also news that Irrfan might get a shot in the sequel of the film.
The film is based on the comics - The Amazing Spider-Man by Stan Lee and Steve Ditko. It is the fourth film of the spider man series with Andrew Garfield playing the role of Spider-man in the film. Garfield is supported by Emma Stone as Gwen Stacy, Rhys Ifans as Dr Curt Connors in lead roles.
Sony Pictures has also announced the sequel, The Amazing Spider-man 2 to be released on May 2, 2014.
