Witness Paranormal Activity 3 Everywhere, Beginning January 24 - Page 2
The sister brings a trove of family videos on VHS that had belonged to now-deceased Grandma Lois, which she stores in the basement. One day the home is trashed but the only thing missing is the box of tapes. The video we are watching ends and another video, dated 1988, is played.
The second video documents the paranormal activity experienced by two little girls (Chloe Csengery as Katie, Jessica Tyler Brown as Kristi) who had just moved with their mother (Lauren Bittner) and her boyfriend (Christopher Nicholas Smith) into a new home. The boyfriend is a videographer who sets up video cameras throughout the house when he is alarmed by strange, recurring sounds.
One of the two young daughters has an invisible friend, “Toby,” whom the family dismisses as a common fantasy. The audience soon learns there is more to Toby than a child’s imagination. The paranormal activities escalate and worsen and the family is faced with the decision to stay or leave.
Paranormal Activity 3 is a prequel to the first and second installments, and introduces the cause of what happens in those two films. It isn’t necessary to have seen either of the previous films to be totally creeped out by Paranormal Activity 3--although the opening scene might seem superfluous.
In addition to the Blu-ray/DVD combo, a trilogy DVD set will be available on January 24, 2012, exclusively at WalMart, which includes the theatrical and unrated versions of all three films plus all previously released bonus material. On February 14, the unrated version of Paranormal Activity 3 will be available, again exclusively from WalMart, and a single-disc DVD of the theatrical version will be available nationwide.
