Friendster Relaunches As A Social Gaming Portal

The site that introduced people to the world of social networking, Friendster, is back! As the grand-daddy of social networking sites, Friendster is trying to play catch up with Facebook.

According to a report, the pioneer of social networking sites just got relaunched as a social discovery and gaming platform.

The new Friendster has now a different look, feel and features to it such as an innovative and user-friendly interface, selection of avatars to suit your personas, and over 50 online games from 8 different genre like role-playing, strategy, simulations and card games.

Additionally, the revamped social network introduces new cool features like simple, easy-to-obtain virtual currency that can be used to purchase virtual goods, online games and applications in a safe and convenient manner, earn rewards through points for every activity within the site including adding friends, engaging with friends, daily log-in or playing any game.

Furthermore, the new Friendster offer a chat feature where existing and new friends on the site can talk via the Friendster Chat Application while playing games and connect to the site using Facebook connect.

It's a complete makeover for Friendster changing from strictly being a social-networking site to a casual gaming portal this time around. Will it become popular again as it once was and get back its lost mojo? We'll just have to wait and see.
