Mirrors Edge Review for the iPhone/ iPod Touch
It is a bit of a late review since this game came out in September but I would rather people know what it is like before they decide to purchase it.
Now already a few minutes in to the story and I am finding quite a few problems such as frames occasionally being dropped so it is unlikely the playable character (who is named Faith) will move in sync with your thumb/ finger slides across the screen, but once you get over that problem Mirrors Edge is actually pretty smooth.
The main parts of the game are split up in to chapters/levels (with there being 14 levels in total), as you travel along in the game it obviously becomes more difficult as you are face with the challenges of infiltration, coming across security with guns also avoiding armed helicopters while sliding down the side off a building all make for an exhilarating time while playing this game but for me it is just not enough for me because there is not really a story to it although at the start of each mission there is a small message which tells you where to go, but that is it, unlike the console counterparts to this (Xbox 360 and Playstation 3) which actually include cutscenes, which I feel involve the user more in the story as they have a reason to play the game, it is not as if iPhones do not have the codec or power to play cutscenes.
All in all the game is actually good but it lacks a few things which would make it great! And for that reason I would give it a 5/10
