Waiting on Star Wars: The Trooper Progression
BioWare gave SWTOR (Star Wars: The Old Republic) fans a look at the Trooper and the Trooper's progression, today. While there are some hints BioWare is tinkering with traditional MMO classes conceptions - the Sith Inquistor appears to have both mage and rogue abilities, for instance - it's pretty safe to say the Trooper is a tank.
Gamers playing Troopers will be able to choose between either a Commando or a Vanguard as their career path. The Commando appears to be better suited for attacking multiple targets and has some support abilities, while the Vanguard appears better suited against single targets.
Fun often eludes tank classes in many MMOs, but both the Vanguard and the Commando look like they'll be fun to play. The Trooper is a tank, but he's not a ho-hum, vanilla tank.
