If the MLB can clean up baseball, why can't we apply this same philosophy towards Hollywood? These people died from the misuse of PRESCRIPTION DRUGS, not illicit drugs. Somehow, the belief exists that just because a doctor prescribes something, it's safe. Is it time to start using drug testing on actors and actresses? Sound over-controlling? Tell that to the loved ones of those who've died because there a complete lack of regulation over the misuse of prescription drugs.
How long until this Hollywood trend starts spilling over into popular culture? Any one of these meds by themselves may provide life-saving measure for the sufferer, but together and unmonitored, they are a ticking timebomb.
When you consider the sycophantic world of Hollywood, where no one wants to say no the 'stars,' it's simply a matter of time before we will be hit by the next tragic death.
