Dane Cook's Brother Indicted, Allegedly Stole Millions
Okay, I admit that I don't know much about Dane Cook (other than he did some thing called Tourgasm, the previews of which I was forced to watch over and over when I lived in a motel for a while...long story), and what little I've seen of him hasn't really struck me as all that funny, but what do I know? I blog for a living. So, that being said, it seems that Dane's brother is in a bit of hot water after allegedly stealing a whole bunch of money from the star (we're talkin' millions here, folks):
Darryl McCauley was charged with eight counts of larceny over $250, forgery and larceny by continuous scheme. According to prosecutors, McCauley once forged a $3 million check written from Cook's account to himself.McCauley allegedly pulled off the scheme while Dane paid him $12,500 a month to be his personal business manager.
Wait wait wait...he forged a check for three MILLION dollars? Do people write checks for three MILLION dollars? Do people just walk into their local Hometown Banking Institution and say, "Yes, I'd like to deposit this check here, and this one too, and oh by the way, can I get this three MILLION dollar check cashed in twenties, please? No, that's 'Dane' written on there, not 'Dana'."
And even though I don't know much about Dane, he apparently has an opening for a personal manager. Hey, for $12,500 a month, I'll read up on him. Don't look at me like that, I got teenagers to feed. Where's that Wiki link again?
