So not only is he lying to Amy's dad Mitch when he claimed he was trying to clean up his life and get clean, but also to the female prisoner he's been writing really nasty lovey letters to:
Blake had claimed in letters to lag Melissa Goldstone that he was not taking drugs – but planned to get high when he got out of prison.
This after Amy's father and record company have worked to try and keep Amy (who was recently diagnosed with emphysema) a prisoner in her home in yet another attempt to get her clean and off drugs, only to find her giving her dad the slip and going out anyway.
What is there to say that hasn't been said? While I applaud the efforts of Amy's father and label, I'm not sure that it isn't too little too late. You don't lock the barn after the horse done got out. Amy is obviously seriously addicted and with her, it's all about the drugs. Her unwavering devotion (except when it isn't) to her crackhead husband and continual and tiring shoutouts to "Free Blaaaaaake", who has repeatedly cheated on her and lied to her, is enough to show me that she's willing to throw it all away.
Don't get me wrong. I believe Amy is a huge talent and if she were to make up her mind to do so, I think she could get clean and have a huge career. But she's got to want to do it for herself. Something has got to give before it's too late.
