Nick Bollea Sits In Jail With "Nothing To Think About"

It's nice to know that while Nick Bollea Hogan Whatever is sitting in jail, he's using his time wisely, as in trying to sort out his life and contemplating and thinking of just what it was that landed him there to start with. And it's always nice to see parents who will tell their son the truth and help keep his feet on the straight and narrow:
The phone calls began just hours after Nick Bollea was hauled away from the courtroom.Nick Bollea: "Had I known this, I would have rather gone to trial or I would rather, you know, appeal the case or something. I can't deal with this for eight months. It's (Bollea's cell) like the size of my bathroom."
Linda Bollea:Â "Oh!"
Nick: "No windows or nothing. Just one little top bed thing."
Linda:Â "Oh my God!" [...]
Nick:Â "All you do is sit there and think, and there's nothing to think about."
Linda:Â "We'll get through it."
Nick:Â "Yeah."Linda:Â "Prove to everyone you've learned your lesson and be more careful."
Yeah, son. Next time you want to drink and go street racing, make sure there's no cops around. Or at least do it on a stretch of road with no palm trees.
Nick is one of two minors being held at the Pinellas County Jail, so he has a private cell, and he's allowed as many calls as he wants during free time if the other person accepts the charges. As well as talking to mommy, he's put in a few calls to daddy as well:
Terry Bollea: "I'm very proud of you brother. Very, very proud of you. You've been thrown in a tough spot and you've handled it better than I could have probably handled it. Any man I know. You've really been somebody to look up to."
Sure. I'll have my son put a poster of Nick up on his wall, since he's going to be getting his license soon. Or maybe I'll put up a poster of the wrecked Supra. Nothing like having a visual reminder of what not to aspire to. Continued on the next page
