The 2012 Vimeo Festival + Awards have brought out some of the crème de la crème in talent – not just in the brilliance of short filmmaking, but also in its judges and performances.

Beardyman brought his serious beat boxing game to the equation. We caught up with him for a brief chat while taking a break from rehearsals. He is every bit as charismatic a person as he is a performer, with some serious graciousness added to the equation.

Joining Beardyman is none other than comedy genius Reggie Watts whom he idolizes.

“It’s a real honor to be asked to do something with him. He is all about finding what’s in the moment from the nooks and crannies in his imagination. We’ve collaborated before and I’m just excited.”

Beardyman is taking his skill of beat boxing to the next level – having been an avid beat boxer since the age of 3, an artist such as he would expect nothing less than constant challenges as well as new and exciting ways to deliver his innovative sound.

“My mission this year is to take things in far more technological direction – and use that technology to make shows that people didn’t think were possible and really to blow people’s minds because that’s what it comes down to.” He said.

Beardyman accurately professes himself to be of the “John Lennon” school of thought. “It’s all about that perfect moment – finding that moment that works. There it is!” That can’t be rehearsed or perfected upon.”

“I’m always into finding new ways to deliver a message through my sound as well.”

Beardyman’s sound is quite transcendental in more ways than one. Check him and his music out on his hilarious website.
