Bonnaroo: Living Up to Its Reputation
Every single year, anticipation and expectation for Bonnaroo are constantly increasing. It’s easy to see why this is the case. After all, a lot of people are saying that it’s one of the best music and arts festivals, especially if you’re in your 20s. The 12th version of the four-day festival just came to a close last June 10. The question is – how was it?

A Festival for Music Lovers
It’s good to know that the festival remained true to its reputation of being the premiere destination for music lovers. After all, just about every genre was represented. While it’s true that it’s mainly advertised as a festival for indie rock bands, there were actually a lot of pop acts, rappers, soft rock bands and even DJs. Where else can you enjoy watching and hearing the Beach Boys, Ludacris, Kenny Rogers and Alice Cooper in the same festival? You can only do that at Bonnaroo and fortunately, the same thing applied for this year’s version.
Who were the best performers? A lot of people enjoyed the performance of Radiohead - but that’s expected. The Roots were almost flawless with their performance but again, that’s something that you’d expect from The Roots. The surprise of the festival, at least during its opening night, was the performance of Kendrick Lamar – the next rap phenom by Dr. Dre. A lot of people also got introduced to Dubstep courtesy of Skrillex. It can be said that Skrillex was able to take advantage of the crowd’s drunken stupor as he pounded them with bass beats and lights.
On the other hand, a lot of people were disappointed with the performance of the Red Hot Chili Peppers. It’s quite obvious that they missed John Frusciante during their performance.
