Catching up with Rob Caggiano from Anthrax
"I think everybody in Anthrax, you know, we all listen to such a wide range of music. We're influenced by so many different things. I think it just comes out in the music, you know?
When I'm at home I rarely listen to metal, just because I get burned out on it... I'm listening to all kinds of different stuff. And as a producer also, I always try to keep myself inspired with the stuff I listen to.
I'm like a music junkie, I spend so much money on records and CDs and iTunes--my iTunes account is out of control at this point (laughing) I love to just listen to music, I love finding new artists... definitely keeps me rolling." --Rob Caggiano (Anthrax)
As Anthrax begins their run as a special guest on Rockstar Energy Drink Mayhem Festival 2012 I had a rare opportunity to catch up with guitarist and Grammy nominated record producer Rob Caggiano.
Mayhem Festival will be rolling into Atlanta this Saturday and there are still tickets and VIP packages left in many cities. If you haven't picked yours up yet I'd advise you to haul ass-- John Reese was not kidding when he told me that this is going to be their biggest year ever. Along with Anthrax making a featured guest appearance, the Festival includes Slipknot, Slayer and Motorhead.
Amongst a long list of production work which includes Machine Head, Straight Line Stitch (Look for the up-coming live interview with Alexis Brown), Bleeding Through and his own bands, The Damned Things Ironiclast and Anthrax albums We've Come for You All and their latest, Worship Music, Rob Caggiano also produced Cradle of Filth's Grammy nominated Nymphetamine.

The first person who emails me about ass kissing or slobbering or... what was that word again? Oh yeah. "Goo'ing??" is going to get a High Five...
in the face...
