Exclusive Interview: "Hello Kitty Rap Pack" Singer Melody Zephyr Rules with #1 Hit Club Single
Hello Kitty Rap Pack, by 37 Records’ recording artist Melody Zephyr, has moved into to the #1 position on the New York Record Pool Club Play Chart this week [January 17, 2011]. This is not an easy achievement for an independent record label artist to accomplish. So, we decided to give the very talented and sexy Melody Zephyr a call and see how things are purring with her.
Q: "Hello Kitty Rap Pack" has risen to the #1 top spot on the New York Club Play chart this week! Congratulations!
MZ: Thank you!
Q: Was seeing “Hello Kitty Rap Pack” topping a NY club chart part of your vision for the record?
MZ: I am still so excited about this, I can hardly believe it! It is really wonderful to think that they are playing my song! My vision is to create music that is interactive, songs that feel good to sing along with, and make you boogie a little. Number #1 really is a dream come true!
Q: How did the "Hello Kitty Rap Pack" come about?
MZ: Actually Hello Kitty Rap Pack is a song on a napkin story. I was having supper at the Rainforest Cafe in Downtown Disney and I thought gee I would really love to rap, if I were going to what would it be about? And like lightning I wrote it all down.
Q: What styles of music are you mostly interested in recording?
MZ: I love pop music, always have and I always will!! I am interested in many different kinds of music, anything with an intriguing bass line, an inspiring beat, or a contagious melody.
Q: Have you been performing anywhere to support the record?
MZ: Yes! We just started, and I am looking forward to taking my music out on many more dates! There is such a magical feeling when you are able to connect something that you have created with a live audience. I just adore that.
Q: What are fan reactions like to the single?
MZ: Really great!! I have been really blessed to hear nice things... and a couple of friends and family who will not speak to me any more because their kids wont stop singing it.
