Exclusive Interview: Sunflower Dead Guitarist Jamie Teissere

In 2007, the band Droid was signed by Munky from Korn's newly conceived label, Emotional Syphon Records. The band went into the studio to record their first label album, Droid. What followed was a whirlwind of high profile tours with bands like Korn, Evanescence and Hell Yeah.
After years the band's hard work was finally beginning to pay off.
However, when Droid went back into the studio to record their follow up album, everything fell apart. The album never came together, the band split up.
Undaunted, Droid guitarist Jamie Teissere, who had formed the band in 1998, decided to take all that he had learned thus far on his journey and create something new entirely, Sunflower Dead. Pulling from widely diverse inspirations and a vast pool of talented musicians and creative thinkers, he set out to form a project that would not only stand out from the pack, but would also embrace a well-rounded, inclusive style suited to a more diverse audience.
The result is Sunflower Dead's self-titled debut album, released August 21, 2012. It ranked as Revolver magazine's #1 new release pick of the week.
