John 5 - Rob Zombie Guitarist Discusses God Told Me To, New Zombie Album and Tours
"Listen, what we do up there... it's like, the individual, the person coming to the show, they're paying a lot of money. They're paying a lot of money to come see a show, and the last thing you want to do is see some band up there, just going through the motions. You know? They're gonna play the show, walk off stage and collect their checks.
These people out here are spending so much money to come see a great show. They want to be entertained. They're working these jobs, so hard, to get the money to come to the shows, so we want to give them the best, energetic, craziest show we can. And it comes back. You hear the roar of this crowd, and they appreciate it. They're like... this is amazing, this is so much fun. And hey, we'll do everything we can to entertain this crowd and have a good time ourselves." — John 5 (on performing live)

JOHN 5 Interview Video - Interviews from the Edge
In this world there are really only two kinds of people, those who know things, and those for whom knowing is not enough, they need to understand. And that is one of the things I noted when speaking to John 5, he is very much the sort of person who needs to understand things, and even more uncommon is his ability to take that understanding and apply it in different and unexpected ways.
