John McAndrew
John McAndrew's lyrics flow like poetry. Though mostly renowned as a pianist, he is much, much more. His artfully crafted piano melodies serve as a beautiful backdrop for his lyrics, and both come together to express the poignant, thought-provoking stories that he tells through them. From the inspirational “This Little Town” that McAndrew performed for NATO heads of state and their wives at the home of former Vice President Al Gore, to the lovely and memorable song “I Love All of You” from his new album, “I Am Home,” McAndrew has created a musical style that touches the heart and soul.
John McAndrew knew his path in life lay in the arts from a very early age. Though he showed an aptitude for visual arts, he knew he wanted to follow in his father's footsteps and become a musician. Without any formal instruction, McAndrew became a multi-instrumentalist, equally as well-versed in the flute, saxophone, and guitar as he was in the piano. Finally, he chose the piano to provide the musical backdrop for his lyrical stories, and has since become an accomplished and multi-talented pianist, singer, and songwriter. Though he describes his sound as Pop/Blues, in reality McAndrew's music attracts fans from a wide variety of genres, particularly fans of blues and adult contemporary music.
