Peelander-Z: The Acid Trip You've Never Had
My first thought when I saw Peelander-Z live at the Soapbox Laundro-Lounge in downtown Wilmington was "Holy shit! This must be what acid feels like!" Between the colors, giant octupi, high-pitched squeal of the Pink Power Ranger's long-lost sister, and electrifying energy, it was truly how I always thought an amazing trip would feel. For the record, I don't do drugs and don't plan on it. But, from what I've heard about acid and shrooms, I can imagine this is what it must be like- all loud, colorful and vibrant!
Peelander-Z is definitely a nerd force of rainbows to be reckoned with. They have been around since 1998 and still bring back the nostalgic futuristic trends from the new millenium back in 2000. They have been featured at Bonnaroo, Vans Warped Tour, and VH1's "Best Week Ever" and put on quite a show! They look like a futuristic anime version of the Power Rangers and encourage audience participation heavily.
Truth be told, their music is just as bizarre as their appearance. However, you really should see them live! Click here to see if they're in your city! Also, be sure to like them on Facebook, check out their Myspace, check out their website and follow them on Twitter.
