Earlier this year we saw Umek take an amazing turn on the house side of his passionate affair with EDM when he mixed a compilation album for Toolroom Records. Now we see him delve a little further into the light - but not too far! Teaming up with the skilled and sophisticated Stefano Noferini they showcase their first collaboration - 'Complimentary Access'.
The influences of both artists can be heard quite clearly through this energetic production. Reverberating hand-claps, splashy cymbals, heavy touches of festive percussion and chopped-up soulful house vocals are teamed with a plethora of techno sounds.
And you will notice that I said 'teamed with' .. there is no battle between good and evil, just a perfect amalgamation of four to the floor house sounds and techno beats. Hard-edged hollow sounding percs bounce through the middle while a top-end cocktail of techno-infused jabby synths give this the energy and dominance needed to command your attention on the dance-floor. Titan fever on the Space Terrace!
