The Billboard Awards Were Bubblin' Hot

The 2011 Billboard Music Awards, which aired on ABC last night, proved to be an interesting show with some fantastic performances from many of today’s hottest in the industry. The show was brought to us live from the MGM Grand in Las Vegas.
Ke$ha, Far East Movement, OneRepublic, Ne-Yo teamed with Pitbull, Black Eyed Peas, Nicki Minaj teamed with Britney Spears, Rhianna who also performed with Britney Spears, Keith Urban, Lady Antebellum, and Taio Cruz were among the routine performances in between the acts that stood out.
The standout performances of the evening were definitely the crème de la crème that today’s music had to offer. Cee Lo Green has a knack for making his fans question how will he appear on the stage next. Green delivered a stunning performance that defied the laws of gravity so well, that he would have Captain Kirk asking “How’d he do that?”
This year’s Billboard Millennium Award recipient was the always drop dead gorgeous and class act Beyonce Knowles who delivered the show-stopping performance at last night’s festivities.
Beyonce wore what little she had very well, being the grateful artist that she is, she paid a warm thanks to the members of Destiny’s Child and a more than loving tribute to her husband Jay-Z. It cannot be said the show was the same after her performance. A-listers including Bono, Barbara Streisand, Stevie Wonder and the First Lady Michelle Obama paid very warm tributes to the diva of music.
Eminem and Justin Bieber cleaned up on the awards, each taking 6 home. Rhiana, Usher, Taylor Swift, Mumford & Sons, Taio Cruz and Lady Gaga each took home 3. Katy Perry, Chris Tomlin, Shakira, and Train each took home two. Bruno Mars, Black Eyed Peas, Enrique Iglesias, Nelly, Ludacris, Neon Trees, Will.I.am, U2, Edward Maya and Vika Jigulina each received 1.
