thomas_dolbyAs one of the most recognizable stars of the 80's pop music scene, Thomas Dolby also made great strides as a music innovator and now, 30 years later, he is still proving his ability to create amazing, ground-breaking musical fusions. His latest concoction melds techno, country, garage-worthy pop punk and zydeco, served with a splash of new age synths to give it that distinctly Dolby flavor.

Gone now is the mad scientist get-up that went along with his biggest hit, "She Blinded Me with Science." In his place is a very retro-smooth musician who is still strongly original, yet with a nod towards the Jules Verne, Steampunk, idea of old fashioned futurism.

thomas_dolby_time_capsuleAs Thomas Dolby rolls across the country on his latest tour he is carrying in tow The Time Capsule, a three seat, brass and chrome trailer geared with equipment that allows fans to create a 30 second video message to future Earth inhabitants, be they human or otherwise. Dolby is gathering the messages which he is combining into video montages on YouTube's TheTimeCapsuleTV channel.

The tour and messages are part of Dolby's latest music-meets-technology creation, an online transmedia game that explores an alternative future that ties in with concepts created on his three-part, critically acclaimed album, A Map of the Floating City.
