62nd Annual Emmy Awards Roundup - Page 4
- I was pulling for Ty Burrell as Phil for best supporting actor, but then I remembered just what Cameron brings to each and every episode of Modern Family.
-Jim Parsons won as best actor for The Big Bang Theory and my wife asked, “What’s wrong with his face?” I think he just looks feminine, but apparently he had some blush to accentuate his cheekbones. That alone is funny enough to win.
-Jon Hamm ruins Jon Hamm for me. Don Draper is such an iconic character that I wish that was all he was. When I see him on 30 Rock or SNL it takes away from the Dapper Don. I am very selfish.
-Amy Poehler is the funniest woman on TV. She showed it during her bit with Jimmy and, of course, her run on Parks and Recreation. Her show needs more attention and I cannot stress enough how little Edie Falco deserved this award.
-Bryan Cranston was a comedy actor who is now winning drama awards. Edie Falco is an award winning (two Emmys) dramatic actress now winning comedy awards. Am I the only one who finds this interesting? I am? Oh, sorry.
-Like I said, I love Terry O’Quinn; the Michael Emerson nomination is overdue, and John Slattery of Mad Men is great, but no one could do what Aaron Paul did this year.
-Ricky Gervais needs to be on every awards show. I don’t care what it is, just sign him up.
-The “In Memoriam” was filled with “That Guy” actors. Bad year for Those Guys. At least it got Jewel some work.
