Breaking Bad to Get a Late Start

According to Deadline Hollywood, Breaking Bad will not return for a fourth season until July 2011.
The show typically returns in May and a July premiere date would likely overlap Mad Men. Unless, of course, Mad Men will also be pushed back. Maybe Sunday is too packed for AMC and they will move one of their award-winning dramas to Thursday to compete with the networks.
The plan is to have mini-sodes hold customers over until the belated season begins. Having seen previous minisodes on amctv.com, I don’t expect them to be very useful. Bryan Cranston did tell Deadline Hollywood that he wants the mini-sodes to be “something that actually moves the storyline forward.”
So far, Breaking Bad has never wavered from being true to the art of storytelling and I don’t suspect they will start now. By the time they premiere the fourth season, it is possible that they will be reigning Best Drama Emmy winners.
