Finding a Mess Within Lost's Final Season - Page 2
No point to it. None. It peaks interest, it gets you thinking about EVERYTHING, and makes every episode a cliffhanger. Just another gimmick. Television and movies can be a distraction - an escape. This show is a set of distractions within a distraction. Don’t get me wrong, I like to think and I like to be challenged - but not like this. It feels forced.
But really, the distractions take away from silly dialogue and, bad acting. So in that regard, it is genius. For the same reason bald guys wearing hats is genius.
Just to show I am not blindly spitting hate on one of the most beloved shows in recent years, I will give one specific examples of my above beefs. In this current season (six) we meet Dogen. He and Jack quarrel on-island but inspire each other off. So here we have a useless story (Dogen) adding a plot-twist to another useless story (Jack is a bad dad) while giving us bad acting (by Lennon, who is Dogen’s number-one and I think is only named Lennon because the internet decided so) and topped off with bad writing. Jack and Dogen fight followed by a dramatic pause before Dogen reveals just what was in that pill he gave to Jack, “…poison” DONGGGGG!
For other examples of uselessness, see the Bai Ling episode, the Nikki and Paulo episode, any face Ana Lucia makes, the polar bear, Walt’s disappearance, and any reference to music or art (minus the Bible, that actually seems pretty important here). Oh, and ‘the numbers.’
Look, I like the show. It's just, I used to LOVE the show. I am terrible at break-ups. I can see it coming so I am just trying to be a dick about it to make it easier on myself. I’m sorry Lost. I wish I could get you, I really do. But you just don’t let me in. You play too many games. You did things to me no one else had ever done. TV (and I) will never be the same.
