HBO Films Presents My Trip To Al-Qaeda
The events of 9/11 left a nation in shock. The devastation that occurred on that day lives in the heart of each American. The country, paralyzed with questions, tried to heal and rationalize the complexity of such an atrocity. One man followed his personal questioning and took actions that led him on a trip he will not soon forget.
Journalist Lawrence Wright explored the moral dilemmas he experienced as he researched Al-Qaeda and the road that lead to the 9/11 tragedy. Lawrence Wright is the Pulitzer Prize winning journalist that followed his heart. His story was first staged in a one-man play, My Trip to Al-Qaeda, in 2006.
On Tuesday, September 7th, HBO Documentary Films presents My Trip To Al-Qaeda, as the one-man play comes to the screen. This documentary will chronicle fundamentalist Islam’s rise to power, as well as Wright’s struggle to remain objective as a journalist in the wake of 9/11.
