I have to begin by saying that if you haven't gotten your hands on a copy of George R. R. Martin's A Game of Thrones, the first novel in the epic series A Song of Ice and Fire, go now. Run already.

Not in the mood to read a series written by a man referred to by Time Magazine as "America's Tolkein"? Then hitch a ride on the first season of HBO's miniseries based on the novels. In the trailer entitled Shadow, released on Jan. 29th, court advisor Varys spins a spider web of a tale, of continued struggles for power between royal families, his attentions finally falling on a very pivotal role for one devious, little Tyrion Lannister.
