Memo to Mainstream Media: Game Over - Page 2
Whether you skew right or left, the news you’re getting on the cable networks (Fox News, CNN), is far better than what we’re seeing on the nightly news. News has become more about news cycle and entertainment, which the blue-hairs in the board room at the big three fail to see it and are unwilling to give in to.
Just like when the butter churns fell out of favor, there is melancholy with the “old way.” The aging population of the United States is the only reason these shows are even on the air today. If not for them, they’d be gone.
It’s time to move on and embrace the new ways in which we get our news and information. The consumer is voting with their eyeballs and the "Big 3" need to admit it and move on.
This has been a revolution in journalism and media. The elitist in the media, and those who have their horse hitched to the old way, continue to fight a losing battle. In doing so, they waste the resources of their companies and continue to insult the intelligence of more savvy viewers.
It’s time for the nightly news to give way to reruns of Seinfeld, and a browse of headlines and videos on your iPad. Oh, and the butter churn.
