With tonight's Finale we are coming to the end of the Smallville series. It’s been a roller coaster of ups and downs. From meteorite crashes, to red kryptonite highs, to blue kryptonite lows. Smallville has developed the Clark Kent and Superman timeline in some a very unique way. Unlike the mediocre series "Lois and Clark" which was much like a failed attempt at a Superman soap-opera. Smallville has lasted, changed and transformed the Clark-Smallville character into a true "Great American Hero."

Smallville has told the story of a very affable non-terrestrial (alien) becoming a super-hero. The portion of this super-hero saga chronicling the History of Clark and Smallville that usually was a short intro to the Superman movies has become the theme of an entire series.

Clark came to earth in a huge meteor shower of the remains of Krypton. Near the end Clark would befriend and battle the physical clones of His Kryptonian ancestors. We were able to see Clark transform from a bumbling young boy, to a confident hero, to a young man who became the leader of the Justice League. And hopefully from a blurry hero to the Superman we expect to see in today’s season finale.

We have had a chance to see an "alien" from another planet learn to master his powers, come to grasp with humanity, embrace morality and overcome the struggles of a teenage life to become a young adult who is making a difference in a grown up world.

From an X-files-esque focus on Meteor Freaks who made it to the Wall of Weird, to the budding romance with Lana, to the development and demise of the friendship between Lex Luthor and Clark, to the rise of the Justice League, we have experienced a unique ride.

Eventually Clark's double dealing with his birth father (Jor-el) lead to the death of the man who raised him, his adopted father Jonathan Kent. A couple characters who were missed along the way when they left were Pete Ross and the Cyborg, whom never returned. In other exciting news Rosenbaum is returning to reprise his role as Lex in tonight’s finale.
