Who Can Replace Steve Carrel in The Office?

It's official! Michael Scott is no longer on The Office. There will be no more one-liners to insert in conversations, no more Dwight sucking up to Michael, no more half-baked schemes, no more insane meetings and no more attempts at "that's what she said." I’m horribly sad to see Steve Carell leave the show, but the question now is who can replace TV’s most lovable inept boss? Those are some massive shoes to fill as the show really hinges on the insane antics that the immature manager imposes on his employees. What other character could possible have the sweet, immature, naïve bad ideas that Michael Scott has?
If you saw the latest episode, then you’ve already heard the slew of actors ‘interviewing’ for the newly available position of Branch Manger at Dunder Mifflin. Therefore, it is certain that Will Ferrell’s roles is temporary (thank God, because his comedy is too one-dimensional and off the wall for the mundane, everyday-life, Office Space-esque comedy of The Office.)
Those interviewing are James Spader, Will Arnett, Ray Romano, Jim Carrey and Ricky Gervais. I don’t think the Boston Legal actor has the heart needed to play Michael Scott, but I think he could pull of the juvenile exploits of the awkward manager. I don’t think Will Arnett has what it takes to play the man in charge of handling Stanley Hudson’s attitude, Angela Martin’s cruelty and Dwight Schrute’s constant attempts at thwarting ‘unjust’ authority. Ray Romano could be a great addition if he can break away from his character in Everybody Loves Raymond, and play the part of a boss people barely comprehend or tolerate. Jim Carrey might also be right to fill the void if he can tone down his usual routine. He can pull off schemes with Dwight and crazy characters in meetings, but he will have to keep the character within limits to keep it realistic. Lastly, the original annoying boss, Ricky Gervias will return. It might just be me, but I don’t think he compares to Steve Carell in the same role. He may be the first boss, but he was not the best.
Whatever is in store for The Office, I hope they find a leading man that can compare with Steve Carell, because unless they do, one of the greatest shows in TV history will go the way of The Simpsons rather than Seinfeld.
