DESCRIPTION;CHARSET=UTF-8:Sensors and sensor technology have the potential to improve control in a large number of applications in food from maximising agricultural output and quality through raw materials testing\, onwards into manufacturing processes to quality control and condition monitoring\; resulting in higher yields\, less waste and reduced cycle times.\n\nNovel sensors are being introduced which have increased functionality at lower cost and are opening up novel areas of sensors throughout the food value chain. Sensors based on optical techniques\, biosensors\, wireless networked sensors and RFID have the potential to significantly improve how food is produced\, processed and eventually delivered to consumers.\n\nHelping to set the scene will be keynote speakers from the Food processing KTN\, Scottish Agricultural College\, Oracle and Crossbow Technologies\, with FP7 funding opportunities being highlighted by TUV NEL.\n\nThis interactive workshop will examine Scotland's capability across a range of solutions for agriculture and food processing. It will be of great interest to both companies and researchers in the field and everyone will have the opportunity to both contribute and participate. Every attendee will be able to present 2 slides on either their requirements for sensing or their technology offering. This will help your networking and business opportunity from attending this event.\n\nTime:   15.00-18.30 \nRegistration from 14.30\nDate: 7th May 2008\nVenue: Dakota Eurocentral \n\nAgenda\n\n14.30   Registration\n15.00    One Minute Introduction to SOA\, Food Processing KTN\, Scotland Food & Drink & Wireless Innovation\n15.10    Opportunities and applications for Sensing in Food\n            (Lesley Hanna\, Food processing KTN)\n15.25    The Food Market Place and Case Studies of Optical Sensing in Food\n            (David Ross\, Scottish Agricultural College)\n15.40    "2 Slide" introductions by participants \n16.10    Opportunities and applications of Wireless Sensor Applications in Food\n            (Crossbow Technology)\n16.30   Refreshments \n17.00    Opportunities for Food Sensing  in FP7 and TSB Calls \n(Alastair McGibbon, UK National Contact Point for FP7, TUV NEL) \n17.15    Opportunities and applications for RFID in Food \n            (Oracle)\n17.30    "2 Slide" introductions by participants\n18.00   Refreshments\, networking and One-to-One sessions\n18.30    Close\n\nTo register for this workshop please contact:  Michelle on 01506 497228\, (register@ttom.org.uk)\n\n\n
