The things that matter are the things that last
http://vexen.livejournal.com/353823.htmlSteering something in the right direction early on will prevent things going as wrong in the future. If it won't matter in 100 years when everyone now is dead, then,

Mountain trekking
http://vexen.livejournal.com/353232.htmlMonday means another week trekking through the black mountains in Wales at breakneck pace, with heavy backpacks. This is the second week of training, and then the week after it's the same story, but up near Scotland somewhere. Gorgeous scenary, great mountains... shame about the pain! Page intro and contents: Neophobia in its psychological pretext is the pressing fear of things that are new, including changes in routine and food. A looser look at general neophobia, in social psychology terms,

Windows Vista Search
http://vexen.livejournal.com/352041.htmlDoes anyone know of any good software I can download to do filesearches in Windows Vista? I need to search the contents of text (.html) files for specific strings, and Vista just can't do it. I've searched on the Internet and found lots and lots of problems, and very few answers. I've found (through rather a lot of effort)

Humans and Food!
http://vexen.blogspot.com/2009/03/humans-and-food.htmlI have added some to " The Food Chain " by Vexen Crabtree (2007): Dr Richard Wrangham of Harvard University notes that cooking is a behaviour found universally in human societies. Only very few single individuals attempt to live without it. Some have theorized that this radical behaviour formed a major factor in our rise to stardom

Why the Bible's morals are so haphazard!
http://www.xanga.com/Vexen_Crabtree/693778663/why-the-bibles...Why the Bible's morals are so haphazard! I have added this to my page on Christian Morals (1999): "Prof Dawkins, in his critical tome written against all god-belief and superstition, attempts to explain why the Bible is such a hodge-podge of confusing and haphazard moral laws: “Much of the Bible is not systematically evil but just plain weird,
