Make Business Card
http://www.thoughtmechanics.com/2009/07/16/make-business-car...There are some rules it pays to follow when starting to make a business card. Any designer or artist will follow the same rules when putting their ideas together because they make sense and ensures the success of the design. The card is supposed to start a conversation. Making the card slightly different will help start things off

http://www.thoughtmechanics.com/2009/07/16/order-business-ca...Good business card design is all about rules. Apart from the obvious ones like size and shape and containing important information there are other rules that need to be considered before you order your business cards. An effective cards needs a unique logo. Hopefully this can be part of your company’s overall brand or an element of its public

http://www.thoughtmechanics.com/2009/07/15/business-card-pro...When I first began designing business cards, I tried all the software on the market. Both professional graphics packages and the smaller niche programs specific to business card design. I used most of the mainstream ones like Laughingbirds Business Card Creator, BusinessCard MX and Belltech business Card Designer Pro

Mac Audio Diversions
http://enthusiasm.cozy.org/archives/2009/07/mac-audio-divers...Most of my music collection is on a Macintosh in my basement, that machine runs iTunes so everybody on the local network can play that music on their macs. So far so good. I also have an ok set of speakers wired up the Mac in the basement. So if I play music on that machine it sounds ok in the living room. I happen to do that by running MPD

Free Business Card Maker
http://www.thoughtmechanics.com/2009/07/15/free-business-car...It seems that with the advent of free business card makers, everybody and his dog is handing out cards nowadays. I sorted through my collection the other day and found 511 cards from people I have met over the past ten years in business. I had been given maybe three times that many in this time, but they were quickly discarded

Business Card Creator
http://www.thoughtmechanics.com/2009/07/14/business-card-cre...You can spend thousands of dollars on graphic design software to make anything from letterheads to movies. Then you can spend hundreds of hours learning how to use it to make anything remotely decent. There are much simpler business card creator packages out there that are either much cheaper or free to use or download

Business Card Ideas
http://www.thoughtmechanics.com/2009/07/14/business-card-ide...Inspiration is key in any design activity. Coming up with ideas for anything is a natural process for most creative people. We use life experiences, influences and the world around us to get inspiration. There isn’t a recipe or a magic potion, it just comes when and how it wants to. That is what sets a creative apart from other, normal people

Make Your Own Business Cards
http://www.thoughtmechanics.com/2009/07/13/make-your-own-bus...It is tempting to make your own business cards, as it is to put your own stamp on anything around you. From your home, car, wife or business, I guess it’s the modern equivalent of marking your territory. There is much to be said for this though, as it adds variety and originality to things around us. The desire to put a piece of ourselves into

Chrome and all
http://enthusiasm.cozy.org/archives/2009/07/chrome-and-allTry to collect some thoughts about Chrome et. al. I really shouldn’t be writing this. I need to find a job! But I’m hoping that if I write this I can stop thinking about it. That usually works. These postings about it all are one’s I’ve liked: John Gruber’s on Daring Fireball , Anil Dash’s post , and to a lesser degree Matt Cutt’s reaction

Plastic Business Cards
http://www.thoughtmechanics.com/2009/07/13/plastic-business-...Plastic business cards are the new face of an old tradition. Business cards, and gentlemen’s calling cards have been around since the 18th century, and haven’t changed much since then. The shape and size remained almost untouched until a few years ago when new shapes and sizes began appearing on the market
