A Man's Gotta Cuddle, Too...
Apparently, it’s not just men that have a one track mind...
If you’re the fun type who likes to spend time immersed in the Kinsey Institute’s Archives of Sexual Behavior, you may have recently stumbled across a study with the title “International Survey of Relationships.”
The researchers at Kinsey decided that although there are a preponderance of studies on the sex life of individuals, they had not spent enough time talking to couples. They gathered up over 1,000 heterosexual couples from Japan, Germany, USA, Spain and Brazil, who had been in relationships ranging from 1 - 51 years in length. Questionnaires were filled out individually by the couple members, in order for researchers to gage how much these men and women were into their relationships, as well as the sexual health of their time together.
The average age of men studied was 55, and 52 years was the average age for women questioned, with each having spent an average length of time together of around 25 years. What was found was a bit surprising, especially if you think you have male-female relationships down pat.
At least according to the survey, for men, it’s really not all about sex. Men studied cited additional important factors including physical health as increasing enjoyment of their relationship. Besides the act of “getting it on,” cuddling, kissing, touching and caressing were stated by men to be twice as important in enjoying their sexual relationship as was professed by their female partners. Surprisingly, women said having sex in the last month was 50% more important to them as an indicator of happiness than their male partners said it was.
We’ve all heard how men just want the main course, so to speak, and then simply drift off to sleep as their partners sigh, grab a decent novel, and leave the light on for an hour or two more. I’ll try to publish thos post without my fiancee finding out, or the comments section might be rife with embarrassing details on this one...Continued on the next page
