Bed Bugs vs Illegal Aliens

Terminix pest control released a list today of the cities in the U.S. with the most reported cases of bed bug infestations. Leading the pack are New York and Philadelphia. Interestingly enough, these two cities probably have some of the highest numbers of illegal aliens.

I don't want you to think for a minute I'm placing the blame of the bed bug invasion on illegal aliens. In fact, the blame most likely lays with business travelers bringing them back from foreign hotels. Notice they have been found at Trump's building and former President Clinton's office. I don't think there have been many illegals in either of those places.

There has been much debate on the subject of illegal aliens of late, mostly, I feel, because of the poor economy. When the economy was good and everyone had a job, no one seemed to bring this subject up much. I personally don't have a big problem with illegal aliens. There are lots of solutions being offered on this subject.

I have a much bigger problem with bed bugs, not that I want to wake up to either in bed with me! Bed bugs will never take my job, but they could drive me out of my home. Just the thought of them has me itching right now. This country is dealing with many issues, how many, though, have the potential to hit home, literally, like bed bugs?

Maybe, just maybe, we can put enough people to work dealing with eliminating the bed bugs. We'll all worry a little less about the illegals. Or maybe the potential illegals will think twice about coming here once they learn about the bed bugs. If that is truly the case, I think we better start worrying more about the bed bugs. I know I will! Scratch, scratch.
