Recently news hit our media that Bill Clinton lost 24 pounds in the preparation for his daughter Chelsea's wedding. He cited his surgeries and management of his cholesterol being serious reasons why he chose to become a vegan.

In addition, Clinton mentioned another important reason why he's taking his health seriously: To be around to see his grandchildren. I love the fact that he's connected to the benefits of veganism to his health, as well as to the health and well-being of his family.

I have a close connection to his journey, because like Bill, I also have chosen vegetarian, vegan and raw vegan diets as ways to improve my health. I've come to the conclusion that it doesn't really matter what path we choose, as long as it contains high amounts of fresh fruits and vegetables, raw and uncooked.

It's great to see the vegan lifestyle coming to the greater culture, as there is still a ton of education that needs to be done when it comes to healthy eating and the lifestyles needed to maintain optimal health.
