Facebook Takes Out Mafia Hitman
On Italy's 100 Most Wanted List, there was a 33 year old Mafia hitman by the name of Pasquale Manfredi, though for some strange reason, he preferred the nickname Scarface. Maybe he has a scar on his face or perhaps he'd seen a classic 1980s Al Pacino flick. I have to go with the latter, since young people tend to gravitate toward that film. It is a good film after all.
Young people also gravitate toward social networking and Manfredi was no exception to this cultural phenomenon.
Sadly, though, you won't be able to add him as a friend on Facebook.
The Mafia hitman, who is one of the most sought after criminals in Italy, was arrested recently because authorities had been keeping an eye on his Facebook profile.
According to sources, he had around 200 friends on Facebook, and authorities are investigating these people to see if they have any mob ties. I wonder if they play Mafia Wars? One thing is clear, however, if I Manfredi played Mafia Wars on Facebook, he wasn't very good at it.
If you can't win at being a wiseguy on Facebook, you probably can't win as one in Italy, either.
