One Place Where Manners Are Lacking: Basic Sex Etiquette

Sex is a natural human activity. It is what we need to reproduce, be satisfied, and healthy. However, our society's manners in the sack are slacking.

I blame part of this on books like "Fifty Shades of Grey" that write some of the worst
sex scenes ever written! Sure, it's popular with housewives who have let themselves go and aren't getting any. But, the shock appeal and cheapness of sex in movies and books, just like this, are turning sex from romantic and passionate to some cheap thrill. Who wants a cheap thrill? So unfulfilling! Reality shows, like Jersey Shore, don't exactly help the situation.

Here's some basic guidelines for the unenlightened:

1. I don't get why some people can be insistent on this, but, no cameras or cell phones in bed without EXPLICIT permission. It can make the other person uncomfortable. People seem attached to their phones nowadays and it's awkward. Seriously, don't be that guy (or chick).

2. If it turns into a one night stand or casual hook up, don't go back to their place or take them to yours. That gets really awkward really quickly. Instead, go get a room or get creative. Plus, it's safer. Also, some people do weird stuff when they sleep. For example, I have been known to talk in my sleep. So, don't take any chances!

3. ALWAYS carry protection! Condoms, dental dams (if you're a lesbian), etc. I'll be honest: I have next to no sex life nowadays (I'm a busy woman). However, there are always at least one or two condoms in my wallets or their little condom pouch. Condoms are small and easy to conceal. I really don't get why people get so embarrassed by them: it's dumber to have unsafe sex. Never make a woman insist. It's annoying and inconsiderate.
