Should I Go Vegetarian?
A recently conducted study explores how consuming non-vegetarian and vegetarian food affects the functioning of our chakras.
The study conducted by the Spiritual Science Research Foundation found that our chakras, being spiritual energy fields that govern various functions in our body, react to the food we are exposed to. Using the electrosomatographic scanning method with the help of a biofeedback machine, the researchers measured these reactions. The study found that consuming vegetarian food is more conducive to the optimum functioning of the body, mind and the intellect. Considering this, the advice is to reduce consumption of non-vegetarian food and increase intake of vegetarian food.
The study also measured the effect of spiritual energy in the body accumulated through some form of spiritual practice. It found that spiritual energy helped ward off the negative impact of non-vegetarian food on the chakras for a longer time and overall mitigated the overall effect of food on the individual. Therefore the study recommends incorporating spiritual practice into our regular daily routine.
Dr. Nandini Samant, who led the study, maintains that the conclusions of the study are facts which are well-known in ancient scriptures. However to help modern man understand firsthand the truth in spiritual principles, a research team embarked on this and other studies about various aspects of our day-to-day life such as our food and drink, dress, the music we listen to, etc. by using biofeedback and other equipment.
“This is our attempt to help the common person bridge the gap between his known world of modern research and the unknown world of spiritual research”, she said.
