Texas School Suspends 4-Year Old For Having Long Hair
File this story under "You Got To Be Kidding Me."
Little Taylor Pugh, a handsome young man, was kicked out of his pre-K school for having long hair, which the Mesquite Independent School District claims violates their school dress code. Taylor, who goes by the nickname "Tator Tot" was given an in-school suspension (which means he can attend school, but is separated from otherwise fun activities, like recess) and have threatened to permanently kick Taylor out if he doesn't have his hair cut to the district's standards.
To make matters worse, Taylor's hair is long because he is trying to grow it out so he can donate it to children with cancer.
The school district is standing firm on their rules and claim Taylor's hair is a distraction and cites their policy that hairstyles "designed to attract attention to the individual or to disrupt the orderly conduct of the classroom or campus (are) not permitted."
Clearly Taylor is a rebel and trying to make a statement, and obviously the Mesquite Independent School District are bunch of rule sticklers out to prove what douchebags they are.
Taylor's dad Delton says: "I don't think it's right to hold a child down and force him to do something ... when it's not hurting him or affecting his education."
I couldn't agree more, especially at the age of four. Although I can see how Taylor could be distracting, because he's just so stinking cute!
Keep up the fight Taylor, stick it to the man!
